H59 vs H62

H62 has higher copper content: better toughness, conductivity and solderability — good for terminals and bases. H59 has slightly higher strength and lower cost — good for plumbing and valves.

Machining Notes

• Red/T1/T2 copper is soft: prone to sticking and deformation — sharp tools and proper cutting parameters required.
• Thin copper sheets can warp — optimized fixturing is essential.
• Copper oxidizes and changes color after machining — passivation or plating protects it (prevents green rust on T2 copper).
• Brass tapping: use the correct pilot hole and tap to avoid breaking taps.
• Swiss-type machining is preferred for small batch parts like terminals and pins.
